I am currently working on the ClimSec research project that aims at assessing the impact of climate change on drought and soil moisture in France.

Two communications have been made to present the main lines of the project at:

bulletthe International Symposium on Drought and Constructions (Marne-la-Vallée, 1-3 September 2008) pdf slides
bulletthe 21st conference of the Association Internationale de Climatologie (Montpellier, 9-13 September 2008) pdf slides

Within the first year of the project, two main tasks have been completed:

bulletA 50-year high-resolution (hourly, 8 km) hydroclimatic reanalysis has been built over France with Safran-Isba-Modcou hydrometeorological suite.

The atmospheric Safran reanalysis and its validation are described in a paper submitted to the International Journal of Climatology abstract

bulletI carried out a reanalysis of meteorological, agricultural and hydrological drought events with standardized drought indices based on Safran precipitation, Isba soil moisture and Modcou river flows.

A communication on this topic has been made at the General Assembly of the European Geosciences Union (Vienna, 19-24 April 2009) abstractslides

Another communication has been accepted to the conference “Étiages-sécheresses- canicules rares et leurs impacts sur les usages de l’eau” (193e session of the scientific and commitee of the Société Hydrotechnique de France, Lyon, 7-8 October)
